personally my 4890 runs in the mid 80's on full load in any game with the fan only at 45%, STO hasn't changed that. Regarding the overheating issue, seems like the problem is on your side either with hardware, or drivers. (90% likely don't even visit these forums) Perhaps AMD is working on some specific STO fixes, but TBH i have a feeling the majority of problems are coming from people with other problems either with hardware or software outside of STO. FYI: AMDs catalyst team has been tweeting out that Catalyst 10.1 will be released by the end of this month, Catalyst 10.1 is supposed to be a major improvement including the introduction of actual game profiles (like nvidias forceware).

With this latest patch AA is now no longer greyed out, with aa 8x everything is smooth as silk.
